AER Reading Assignment : Signup sheet
When you've chosen an article (even just tentatively), please link to it here with your name. This will ensure there aren't any duplicates and allow others in the class to look up what you read after we discuss it in class.
- Jason: What To Drop From A One-Semester Version Of "Astro 101" by Bruce Partridge
- Adam: Teaching Scientific Logic: Theories and Observations by Kelly Cline, Carroll College
- Josh: Development and Validation of the Light and Spectroscopy Concept Inventory by Bardar et al. 2007
- The article is a little jargony (as in statistical jargon, etc.), but the author is a friend of mine from back at BU, and this was her thesis work. So I hope to get something of an inside scoop to share. The LSCI itself can be found here for those that are interested.
- Suzy:Assessment of Large General Education Astronomy Classes by Thomas H. Robertson, W. Holmes Finch, Ball State University
- Dustin: Exploring the Universe Together: Cooperative Quizzes With and Without a Classroom Performance System in Astronomy 101 by Byrd, Coleman, Werneth
- Ferah:
- Brent: Using Literacy Techniques to Teach Astronomy to Non-Science Majors by Garland, Ratay
Please try to decide by Friday. If you change your mind about what article you wish to present after you post it here, feel free to choose a new one (just remember to update your posting.)
