Course Summary

A summary of our thoughts about the semester's readings is here. The black text is notes Jonnie took throughout the semester. The red are the thoughts of the group from our end of semester meeting.

Out of town

  • Chat: 9/29-10/3 (no Tuesdays)
  • Jonnie: possibly substantial time later in the semester for South Africa
  • Statia: 10/2-8 (missing 10/5); possibly missing 11/23
  • Amber: not to my knowledge
  • Peter:

To Do

  • Discuss purchasing books for possible “RAL Library.”
  • Insert a half-lecture on digital sampling?
  • First class: get names, emails, lecture sign-up

Getting paid

We each have a 3 hr/wk appointment as a “tutor” for Radio 101, at a rate of $15.11/hr. That totals $634.62, assuming that we all work for 14 weeks.

In order to get paid, we must:

  • Fill out hourly timesheets (see El Hoffman)
  • Get Geoff/Carl to sign them
  • Submit them to El Hoffman

Snacks

One purchases a coffee box at Peet's for $16 in Sutardja Dai (CITRIS building), along with all the accoutrements (cream, sugar, stirrers).

15 cookies are purchased from Yali's in Stanley Hall for $22.50. Cookies must be ordered by the previous day at 10 a.m.; the order can be placed earlier. For excellent service, order from Isaac, whose cell is 614-805-9822.

Reimbursement is via the traditional department “Entertainment Reimbursement” form, which must be signed by Geoff or Carl and then given to Mary Yang, who knows the correct fund number.
